About Me

  I am a recent graduate from Colorado Mesa University with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. This degree has prepared me well by developing my working knowledge of Full stack and or Back End development as well as honed my report writing and verbal communication skills.
  While I don't have actual work related experience in the industry yet, I have taken many courses that have prepared me for my new career.
  I have many years of actual work experience before I decided to make a career change. Immediately before going back to school, I was a field supervisor for Halliburton in charge of an oilfield service crew. While that job had many challenges and rewards, I just couldn't see myself in that role long term and needed a change to better mine and my family's life.

Grand Valley Now

Fall Semester 2022

Software Engineering Project

This project uses a python web scraper that goes to specific websites and scrapes local event information that we can compile and display on an open-source leaflet map. Content from the scraper was stored in a database and pulled when requested from the website. My main part of the project was contacting website owners and getting permission to scrape websites to use for our project and to build the leaflet map and markers to display the information. I set up the Apache2 webs server using AWS, much like this website is using to serve the content.

C++ and Python3 Kattis solutions

During my time at CMU some of my professors really like competitive programming. Sometimes they were assignments, but most were just for fun to help me learn the language I was learning for that semester. At one poin I was trying to get into the top 50 for CMU on https://open.kattis.com/ I achieved that goal at one point.
